Vitrification

Simulation Program in Embryology

Time is money and we value your time very much. Our person-to-person training programs want you to complete your learning curve in just 24 hours and acquire the skills and competencies necessary to carry out your work efficiently and effectively from day one.

Sperm and embryo cryopreservation have become routine procedures in the practice of Assisted Human Reproduction. Oocyte cryopreservation is also becoming a common procedure in routine clinical practice.

Embryo cryopreservation has made it possible to reduce the number of fresh embryos transferred, thus maximizing the effectiveness of IVF cycles. The data show that women who had both fresh and frozen embryos transferred obtained 8% more live births by using the cryopreserved embryos

Oocyte cryopreservation presents additional advantages over embryo cryopreservation such as: preservation of fertility (egg freezing), for women at risk of infertility due to cancer treatment or chronic illness, egg donation, and the ability to postpone a pregnancy by storing younger gametes. This technique also eliminates the ethical, legal and religious implications regarding embryo freezing. Similarly to the techniques described above, training is carried out using discarded materials or latex microbeads; the problem is that the final result, survival rates, cannot be observed in order to know whether the technique was properly applied.

Training by performing vitrification simulations on mouse gametes and embryos makes it possible to acquire skills and competencies in vitrification in a way that can be reproduced and evaluated before moving on to the Assisted Human Reproduction laboratory.
